Pressing/drawing method in accordance with GW 322-1
The Pilot Pipe method is a procedure developed and patented by the Pfeiffer Group for trenchless pipe replacement of drinking water and gas pipes.
The old pipe is removed completely from the ground and the new pipe drawn into the same line. The process can be applied to replace pipes made of cast iron, steel, fibre cement, pre-stressed and reinforced concrete in diameters ranging from DN 80 to DN 1600.
The new pipes can be made of steel, ductile cast iron, PE and materials made of similar tensile strength. Compared to other processes available on the market, this method allows substantial increases in diameter, as well as reductions. In addition, pipe lengths of 60 - 80 m can be laid without intermediate trenches.
